Author Guidelines

UA Editora welcomes proposals from members of the university community and external authors. To submit a proposal, you must complete the Editing Proposal Form (online form) and/or send the documentation to editora@ua.pt.

All proposals are evaluated according to the Editorial Policy. Those that meet the formal and editorial requirements advance to peer review.

Peer review: All first editions (except institutional ones) are reviewed by at least two experts, one of whom is external to UA. An editor may reject submissions that do not meet the minimum quality standards or editorial scope.

Copyright, Contract, and Open Access

For all published works, a publishing contract is signed, defining conditions, rights and obligations, and the intellectual property regime. UA Editora publishes primarily in Open Access, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license. No processing or publishing fees are charged to authors.

Funding and Distribution

Proposals with guarantees of full or partial financial support may receive priority processing. When applicable, commercial distribution will be coordinated with UA structures and external partners. In non-commercial cases, distribution may be the responsibility of the proposers/authors, when so defined.
